Celebrating Life Spring Benefit Volunteers

The Illinois Chapter of the American Liver Foundation is looking for volunteers to assist with our 2007 Celebrating Life Spring Benefit. The event, scheduled for April 24 th , 2007 requires professional, courteous volunteers that can work well with business professionals. You will need to arrive for the event by 5:00 PM and will not leave until roughly 10:00 PM at the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency-Chicago (151 E. Wacker). If you are interested, you may be assisting with registration, selling raffle tickets, collecting donations from our paddle raiser, or helping guests locate their seats. Please contact Brandon at brandon@illinois-liver.org or calling 312.377.9030 x13. An informational packet with detailed instructions will be sent out prior to the event. No formal training will be held.

The primary goals of the Illinois Chapter are to promote liver wellness awareness, raise funds for research, and provide education and patient programs to the residents of Illinois and Northwest Indiana. To effectively serve this population it is important to supplement our staff. Volunteerism not only helps us keep administrative costs at a minimum, it offers individuals who are dedicated to liver advocacy and finding cures for liver diseases an opportunity to fulfill their personal volunteerism goals.

Volunteering is easy. Because we want our volunteers to enjoy their experience, it's important for potential volunteers to decide what type of activities they would like to be involved in, how much time they have to offer, their hours of availability, and their skills. We need help with general office activities such as stuffing envelopes or making phone calls. We could use the expertise of those who have knowledge of computer programs, brochure designs or from those who have experience in event planning. Some of these activities require volunteers to visit our Chicago office or helping us at a Health and Fitness Expo. Other tasks can be completed from your home or office. An example of a local activity would be distributing brochures and posters for our Liver Wellness Walk/Run in your town or work location, and coordinating a team of walkers for the event.
