Are
you ready to Walk?
Help
us raise funds for research, education and advocacy
for those affected by a liver disease! Then join
us at the Liver Life Walk to celebrate your amazing
efforts!
FORM
A TEAM!
Make
the Walk/Run even more fun and memorable by getting
your friends and family together to form a team.
Each team can create their own fundraising team
page on ALF's website www.illinois-liver.org!
Team:
Get your family, friends or your co-workers and
form a team and join together to raise funds for
the American Liver Foundation!
Dog Team: Even dogs, with a little
help from their owners, can join together as a team
and your dog can join the fundraising, by asking
for support from doggie daycare, your local pet
shop, or pet supply company!
WHY
FORM A TEAM?
Together,
your impact can be even greater! Don't just ask
your friends and family to donate, ask them to particpate!
Through their particiapation, you can increase your
circle of friends from 10 to 50 by asking just 4
friends to join you! Isn't that worth it?
10
WAYS TO FORM A SUCCESSFUL TEAM!
1.
Mark Your Calendar - Saturday, October
18, 2008, 9:30 a.m.
2.
Get Team Information by calling the Chapter
Office at (312) 377-9030 ext. 15.
3.
Be a Team Captain. Manage and motivate
your team in hopes of winning various awards such
as Tons of Toes or Spectacular Feet. Create your
Team's online fundraising Web page.
4.
Ask people to join you. Recruit team members
by asking your friends, family, neighbors, business
associates, and service or student organizations
to which you belong to join your team.
5.
Name your Team. Get your team involved
in choosing a name. Walk or run in honor of a loved
one or get funky and show your creative side. You’ll
be sure to stand out amongst the crowd.
6.
Check with your employer. Ask your employer
or service organization’s HR Dept. to put
you in their newsletter, post a notice or even include
your team in e-mail updates. Be sure to ask about
your Matching Gift program.
7.
Create team spirit. Friendly competition
along with the common goals of winning an award
and helping in the fight against liver diseases,
encourage team members to recruit additional members
and to sign up as many pledges as they can.
8.
Set goals. Be realistic about the number
of team members you hope to recruit and the team
pledge goal you hope to raise.
9.
Share your enthusiasm. Organize team meetings
to keep your team motivated and informed of the
team’s fundraising progress.
10.
Be creative. Recruit team members by setting
up an information table at your employer or organization
during lunchtime. Organize fun and clever fundraising
events such as a dog wash or ask your employer for
a “Pay for a Casual Dress Day”.
